The Book Club is a discussion and support group led by Kathy Feinstein, LMHC. The group covers books on topics about self-empowerment and improving coping skills. The book discussions are interesting and helpful. It’s also a great time to meet and get to know others who have MS. The book club meets once per week for about an hour and a half. This series will be six weeks beginning 8/19 and concluding 9/23. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to do the assigned reading.

“Man’s Search for Meaning”, by Viktor Frankl
Man’s Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate during World War II, and describing his psychotherapeutic method, which involved identifying a purpose in life to feel positively about, and then immersively imagining that outcome. According to Frankl, the way a prisoner imagined the future affected his longevity. Man’s Search For Meaning belongs to a list of “the ten most influential books in the United States.” At the time of the author’s death in 1997, the book had sold over 10 million copies and had been translated into 24 languages.

“The Power of Purpose”, by Richard Leider.
The Power of Purpose-We all want to find our purpose—our reason for getting up in the morning. Purpose is fundamental to human life. It is what makes us human. Purpose gives us the will not just to live but to live long and well. The good news is, purpose isn’t a grand concept reserved for a gifted few but something each one of us already possesses, needing only to be uncovered.
Twenty-five years after the publication of the first edition, legendary personal coach Richard Leider has completely rethought and revamped his bestselling classic on realizing what truly makes your life worth living.
